Location - Halifax, Canada Post Number - DEXCA0060 This is a Voluntary National Contribution (VNC) post within DIANA. VNCs have and will keep their statutory and/or contractual relationship with their government or other national authority throughout the period of their assignment to DIANA. As such, please ensure you have national support before applying. The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Chief Counsel Rapid Adoption Service to provide expert legal guidance and support needed to prepare and execute functions of the Rapid Adoption Service. The Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with other Team members (including: Project Manager - Adoption, Project Manager Accelerators, Project Manager Test Centers) and other Stakeholders as necessary to ensure that all legal aspects of the Rapid adoption service are addressed. Duties of this role include: Provide legal assistance regarding R&D and procurement policies, regulations, and compliance, including public and private sector procurement law as well as any other regulation applicable to operational experimentation, testing, evaluation, verification, validation of dual use innovative technologies. Support compliance with relevant legislation, including local, national, and international laws particularly in respect of collaboration between Innovators, Technical Experts, Operational Users, Capability Developers and System Integrators. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to align legal advice with DIANAs mission and objectives as well as to support preparation and execution of the Rapid Adoption Services functions. Stay informed about updates to the relevant laws, industry standards, and best practices and prepare recommendations regarding functioning and refining of the Rapid Adoption Service. Contribute to project management by coordinating with the Chief Counsel Rapid Adoption Service to organise the exchange of information and the development of deliverables with a variety of stakeholders and DIANAs components, including cyclical reporting on RASs operations. Perform any other related duties as may be required. The incumbent must have: Strong problem-solving and crisis management abilities in fast-paced, high stakes environments. Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, especially concerning sensitive or classified technology. Ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MSTeams, SharePoint, OneDrive). Possess the following minimum level of NATO official languages (English): IV (Very Good).
