Staff Software Engineer About Loop Loop Financial is a fastgrowing fintech startup building the only truly crossborder banking platform. We help businesses seamlessly manage money around the world so they can access more markets, accelerate growth, and simplify their operations. About the Role I am Yan, Head of Engineering at Loop, and Im hiring a Staff Software Engineer to be a technical leader across our entire platform. In this role you will set architectural direction, mentor engineers, and build critical systems yourself from our core ledger and moneymovement infrastructure to the product features that customers interact with daily. The position is onsite at our downtown Toronto office (Adelaide and Spadina). What Youll Be Doing Lead architectural decisions across the full platform backend, frontend, infrastructure Build endtoend features while setting technical direction for the team Architect our core ledger, moneymovement systems, and customerfacing product Partner with product and leadership to shape technical strategy Make technical decisions that balance innovation with reliability Own resolution of complex technical issues across the stack Mentor engineers and raise the bar for technical excellence Stay handson youll write code, not just draw diagrams What Were Looking For 8+ years building and scaling distributed systems Fullstack expertise comfortable across backend, frontend, and infrastructure Experience with financial systems, payment platforms, or highstakes data applications Track record architecting dataintensive, highly concurrent applications Expertise in faulttolerant system design and consistency tradeoffs Strong product instincts understand why were building, not just what Ability to explain complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders Ability to improve the people around you Bonus Security engineering background, accounting/reporting knowledge, experience with our stack (Ruby, PostgreSQL, React).
