Senior Electrical & Mechanical Project Manager Join Urbacon as a Senior Electrical & Mechanical Project Manager. This role provides senior technical and project leadership across Urbacons construction portfolio, including hyperscale data centres, institutional facilities, and complex infrastructure projects. Role Overview The Senior Electrical & Mechanical Project Manager delivers 15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical and electrical systems delivery within construction management, designbidbuild or designbuild environments. The candidate must hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Master Electrician (ME) designation. Key Responsibilities Technical Act as Urbacons senior technical authority for all mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, guiding design development, constructability, and execution strategy. Review and validate consultant drawings, specifications, and performance criteria to ensure compliance with code and client requirements. Lead valueengineering initiatives and system optimization to improve efficiency, resilience, and lifecycle performance. Oversee integration of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems with architectural, structural, and civil components. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, energyefficiency strategies, and missioncritical innovations. Project Execution & Management Manage the full lifecycle of M&E scopes on largescale ICI and datacentre projects from preconstruction through turnover. Provide designassistance for M&E equipment and develop scopes of work, tender packages, bid analyses, and contract recommendations for all M&E trades. Oversee project schedules and longlead equipment tracking to ensure timely procurement, delivery, and commissioning. Provide technical oversight during installation, testing, and commissioning plan development. Lead or participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) to support commissioning planning. Lead or work with the project commissioning agent to complete project commissioning, ensuring Level15 and integrated systems commissioning (IST) requirements are met. Conduct design and field reviews, ensuring compliance with Urbacons QA/QC procedures and safety standards. Support Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for live environments. Risk, Quality & Compliance Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and coordination risks throughout design and construction. Conduct gap analyses on consultant and trade designs; issue RFIs where required. Liaise with authorities having jurisdiction (ESA, TSSA, municipal utilities) for permitting, inspections, and approvals. Prepare and review commissioning reports, asbuilt documentation, and system manuals. Manage all applications for energy rebates, sustainability incentives, and publicfunded efficiency programmes. Serve as Urbacons technical representative to clients, consultants, and trade partners. Communicate design intent, system functionality, and progress clearly across all project stakeholders. Health, Safety & Quality Help enforce Urbacons health and safety standards with a mechanical and electrical focus on all job sites, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Ensure construction quality aligns with design intent, specifications, and industry best practices. Candidate Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or Mechanical) or equivalent technical diploma. Professional designation: P.Eng., C.E.T. or Master Electrician (ME) (ESA). Experience working within Electrical or Mechanical Subcontractors is highly valued. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in M&E project delivery within the ICI or missioncritical construction sector. Proven success managing large, complex, fasttrack or retrofit projects in occupied or sensitive environments. Valid Ontario class G drivers licence and access to a vehicle for duty purposes. Excellent computer skills and experience with project management, planning, timemanagement and contract software. Good grasp of code compliance (CSA, ASHRAE, NFPA, ESA). Commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Location & Commitments Head Office: Urbacon, 750 Lake Shore Blvd East, Toronto 5 days a week. Frequent travel to active project sites and client facilities across Ontario and Canada. Sitebased deployment may be required for major data centre or ICI builds. Regular business hours with extendedhours flexibility required for fasttrack projects.
