We seek a wellrounded professional with Databricks experience who can seamlessly apply technical and communication skills to advance data solutions and drive strategic success. Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (Onsite/Hybrid) Status: Full-Time, Permanent Responsibilities Analyze the current state and identify/document gaps between the current state and business requirements Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes and refine business requirements Contribute towards technical presales efforts, shaping cloud strategy and solution proposals Define the future state solution architecture, ensuring it meets security, availability, and business needs Develop and define future state data architecture and models aligned with business objectives Outline highlevel steps, plans, and resource requirements necessary to achieve the future state Complete customerrequired specifications for requirements, architecture, and design to secure solution approval from all stakeholders Establish governance processes to ensure the effective adoption and maintenance of solutions Develop and enforce best practices for consistent development, implementation, and maintenance of solutions Lead and manage teams through the entire solution development and delivery lifecycle Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and changes Effectively manage and resolve issues that arise during the solution life cycle Investigate and resolve complex challenges that block developer progression Stay informed about the latest technology developments and maintain a ''''trusted advisor'''' role with stakeholders Estimate software and service pricing related to solution design and implementation Technical Communication: Capably explain technical projects and their business impact to management and nontechnical stakeholders Conduct assessments, identify bottlenecks and gaps in infrastructure, recommend improvements, and implement changes Qualifications, Skills & Experience Formal education in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Data Engineering or Data Architect role, demonstrating deep technical knowledge and leadership in data solutions Experience with SQL, including DDL, DML, optimizing, and implementing security measures A minimum of 5 years of experience in data modeling, demonstrating strong analytical and design capabilities Handson expertise with Big Data, Lakehouse and Data Warehouse technologies, including experience in optimizing data access for speed, reliability, and businessdriven velocity Proven track record in implementing and leading cloud migration projects, displaying deep understanding of the associated challenges and best practices Experience with various cloud deployment models, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Hybrid environments Expertlevel proficiency with Azure Databricks Energetic and resultsoriented, with a proven ability to leverage technology to meet business objectives, improve processes, and deliver efficiencies Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment, with a strong initiative to drive ongoing optimization and business improvements Excellent clientfacing communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams Nice To Have Previous experience in technical presales for data solutions, able to articulate business value and build client trust One or more Databricks certifications would be an asset Proficiency in Python, R, Scala, or similar scripting languages Expertlevel proficiency in one of Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric Azure and/or AWS certifications About Adastra For more than 25 years, Adastra Corporation has been hyperfocused on data and the infrastructures to support it.
