How will I contribute? This role will be a key member of the Mississauga office as we continue to grow and expand our office presence within Canada. You will be a critical member of the mechanical team helping to provide highlevel technical support on all of our life sciences projects within Canada. You will be responsible for overseeing the discipline deliverables and budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes. You will coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors. You will manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities, and help direct the work of others on projects. You may act as the mechanical pointofcontact for clients, other disciplines, precon services for their scope areas, and help complete complex project code analysis, plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including details and specifications), and understand the technical and design aspects of CRB''''s market areas. You will develop project documents (e.g. calculations, reports and construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients according to regulatory and industry standards and work with other disciplines to ensure system designs are fully coordinated from conception through completion. You will also have the opportunity to provide mentorship to earlycareer engineers on projects related to HVAC, plant utility, plumbing, and compressed gas systems. Responsibilities: Interface with clients and external partners Plan and direct work, manage a project budget from a mechanical design perspective on small to mediumsized projects of limited complexity Work with a Project Manager to proposal development, manhour planning, project scheduling for the mechanical scope of work on intermediate level projects Identify basic noncompliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on intermediate projects of limited complexity and with little oversight Lead a team of mechanical engineers/designers in the execution of advanced projects Lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports Provide mentorship to discipline Mechanical Engineer I and II and/or Designer I and II Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (alternatively, a Bachelors in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option) 10+ years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting P. Eng. or ability to obtain Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing/drainage fixture, fire protection, and piping systems designs required Advanced experience with the mechanical/plumbing/fire code, and applicable building codes required Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting Additional Qualifications: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred Experience with HVAC design for GMP cleanrooms and biosafety containment is strongly preferred LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accreditation is preferred Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical systems required Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers is preferred Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
