The selected candidate will play a key role in all phases of engineering projects from front end-studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailed engineering. As a principal member of the mechanical engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional technical quality, identification and development of new business opportunities and nurturing the professional development of members. Perform high level engineering on penstocks, turbines, mechanical governors, bearing lubrication and cooling, shaft balancing and alignment, hydro-mechanical gates, valves, generator cooling, generator brakes and balance of plant Take a lead role in client communications and business development Be a key team member for small to major brownfield/greenfield hydroelectric projects Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge, and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team Foster a culture of having fun at work while producing high quality professional work Be the Project Manager or Project Leader on engineering mandates within the hydroelectric industry Do your qualities and values match our corporate culture? Inspirational leadership Results-driven Constantly seeking sustainable and agile solutions Ability to share and pass on knowledge Ability to see beyond established standards Efficient, both at the office and the work site Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements University degree in Mechanical Engineering Be registered as a professional Engineer in Canada for the position of Engineer 25+ years of relevant engineering experience in the hydropower sector with a preference for 20+ years in consulting Understanding of design codes and standards: ASME, CSA, API, AWWA, US Army Corp of Engineers, USBR etc Available for site work and short-term assignments (mandatory) Must be a registered or the qualification to be P.Eng in Canada Valid drivers license An overview of BBAs total reward Annual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $155 000 to $215 000 Annual bonification program for all regular employees Onsite mobility premium Access to a time bank Cellphone Program Group insurance plan starting day one including short term and long-term disability insurance Pension Plan Vacation and sick leave Premium offer through the Employee Referral Program BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary such as, but no limited to: Location of the position, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.
