We are looking for a Vice President of Business Development to lead the commercial team across Canada. As a Strategic Leader, this position is responsible for sustainable and profitable growth of the Canadian crane businesses, including identification of market opportunities and competitive threats, successful attainment of new customers and growth within existing accounts. The preferred location is our Corporate Office in Edmonton, AB, though other locations in Canada may be considered. Responsibilities Assist in developing and executing strategic plans and annual budget for Sterling Crane Canada. Lead and direct analysis of customers, markets, and competition in the crane services and related markets. Develop and lead effective pricing and sales strategies. Educate, coach, mentor and train all customerfacing sales employees on current tools and methodologies. Continuously improve the skill set and capability of the sales team. Develop and execute a broad strategy for growth of the crane sector, including organic sources of sustainable and profitable growth. Manage current portfolio of customers and evaluate opportunities to grow and improve profitability. Develop executivelevel customer relationships with key decision makers. Analyze opportunities within existing markets for winning new customers and conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends. Analyze and identify opportunities for geographic expansion in current branch footprint. Collaborate with business unit leadership, sector and corporate resources to deliver on company objectives. Manage and continually develop the estimating department within Sterling Crane Canada, ensuring all proposals are answered with professionalism and accuracy. Interface with contract management on setting commercial term structure and negotiations. Lead all outbound marketing efforts for Sterling Crane Canada, including use of social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and market engagement through forums, events and conferences. Frequent travel to multiple locations within Canada and interaction with internal stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in business or a related field (or equivalent) required. Extensive commercial or operational leadership experience in the crane/construction industry preferred. Extensive experience working with general contracts, EPC/M businesses and engineering firms. Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Mining, Power (conventional and renewable) and Civil/Infrastructure industries preferred. Minimum of 10 years of sales leadership required.
