Work Arrangement Hybridremote model; based in Canada. Requires visible presence across the organization, frequent visits to Edmonton HQ and Toronto for strategic leadership meetings, and some travel to NewYork and SanFrancisco. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the CTO and leadership teams to establish clear priorities and objectives for the technical teams, balancing immediate operational needs with longterm strategic vision. Provide guidance and oversight to the Cloud Operations team and the Director of Technical Support to ensure service level, uptime, cybersecurity, and compliance standards are maintained. Support Senior Managers and Directors in defining and achieving the product roadmap, ensuring high quality and continuous innovation. Develop and enhance operational strategies, metrics, and reporting for Cloud Operations and Software Engineering functions. Partner with the VP of Product to align technical efforts with strategic product visions, including advancements in AI and LLMbased capabilities. Collaborate closely with the VP of Product and Director of Software Engineering to develop and execute a unified vision for future technical initiatives. Collaborate with the VP of Operations and other technology teams to maintain compliance with SOCIIType2 requirements. Manage the annual budget of $78M for the Technical Team, ensuring effective resource allocation and goal setting. Facilitate ongoing improvements and testing of Disaster Recovery and Incident Response plans. Conduct regular performance evaluations (OKRs) and provide mentorship to team members, fostering a supportive and highperformance work environment. Ensure adherence to company standards and industry best practices, while identifying and mitigating risks associated with technology operations and product development. Provide support to the Cloud Operations team and the Director of Technical Support as needed. Requirements Current VP of Engineering or higher is required for this role. 3-5+ years of experience leading Managers and Directors. 5+ years of technical software development experience in a SaaS B2B software company. 6-8+ years of experience leading midsized software engineering teams, with a strong grasp of software engineering principles and cloud engineering. Proficiency with AWS Cloud and Microsoft .NET technology. Experience successfully leading SR&ED claims. Ability and willingness to travel to Toronto, Edmonton, NewYork and SanFrancisco every 34 weeks. Experience scaling up teams and products. Experience managing budgets of $510M+. Ability to have indepth technical conversations on architecture and implementation. Experience working with enterprise customers, particularly Fortune 1000 companies. Experience with Change Management and organizational development. Strong problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to tackling challenges. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a track record of fostering collaborative environments. A bachelors degree or equivalent experience in CompSci, software engineering, or a related field is nice to have. Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions on architecture, systems design, and implementation. A strong bias towards action, a makerowner attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. Serious passion for modern technology and innovation. Nice to Have Experience in FinTech, especially products that go into banking and professional services. Experience with ISO27001 and SOCIIType2 compliance. Experience in professional services. Previous involvement in strategic planning for a growing B2B software business. Familiarity with Salesforce ecosystems. Background in Customer Operations, Customer Success, or Product Management. 3+ years of experience leading cloud operations and technical support teams, with a solid understanding of cloud engineering.
