Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact To deliver nuclear safety expertise to power generation utilities and other customers. The specific accountabilities of the position are as follows: Conduct safety analysis using state-of-the-art nuclear safety analysis computer software Development of new analytical methods and models The preparation of technical documents in support of regulatory submissions Understand and assess client problems and determine appropriate means of solution Manage projects and act as team lead where appropriate Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplinary projects Stay current with developments within your field of expertise Other duties as assigned What You Need to Succeed Requires as a minimum, Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering and/or Engineering Physics. Completion of a Masters Degree or PhD would be preferred. Minimum of three to five years experience in the area of dispersion and dose assessments. Preference for candidates with working experience in dispersion and dose safety analysis industry toolsets (e.g., IMPACT, ADDAM, URI, MACCS). Possess a sound foundation in transport phenomena (heat, mass and momentum transfer) and numerical methods preferred. Preference for candidates with working experience in deterministic safety analysis, emergency response, plant habitability analysis, normal operation, and site evaluation. Experience with Windows & LINUX operating systems required. Experience in software development using Visual Studio and .NET framework (C#, VB) preferred. Experience in validation of engineering software preferred. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards is desired (e.g., REGDOC-2.4.1, REGDOC-2.4.4,CSA N286.7, CSA N288.1 and CSA N288.2), along with a strong understanding of and commitment to meeting superior quality assurance requirements. Flexibility to perform work over a wide range of areas for both operating and new facilities. A strong understanding of CANDU nuclear power plant design, operation and regulatory requirements, or equivalent for fossil and chemical plants. Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality. Experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions. High commitment to quality and to providing value to customers. Ability to provide value-added solutions and to consistently deliver projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Able to work in multiple locations including Toronto and client sites. Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset. Occasional travel to other Kinectrics locations and client sites will be required.
