You will work collaboratively with engineers and specialists to build detailed design and drawing packages with a strong focus on Cable Containment Design for various railway and transit projects. You will establish and confirm design concepts to meet identified criteria and requirements, define processes, and execute plans across multiple projects. What You Can Expect To Do Here Design ductbanks and cabling infrastructure in accordance with quality objectives, regulations, laws, and standards (e.g., Metrolinx, CN, CP, AREMA). Conduit modeling and design for security systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, SCADA systems, lighting, switches, switch heaters, mainline duct banks, wayside signals, axle counters, and more. Generate contractual deliverables from the model for client submission. Support the design team, other disciplines, and construction during build and commissioning. Review and interpret existing conditions, drawings, and specifications. Identify and manage design changes where relevant. Prepare all drawings in strict accordance with CADD requirements and as directed by design engineers/architects. Perform alternative analysis and value engineering to establish efficiency, maintainability, and lowest lifecycle costs. Participate in interdisciplinary communications to coordinate drawings, specifications, and reports. Perform detailed quality and technical checks of design inputs and documentation. Inspect construction work, materials, and methods. Produce engineering design packages ready for final checking and review. Liaise with team members, clients, and coconsultants, and attend meetings to provide updates on progress and deliverables. Apply a cando entrepreneurial attitude to problem solving and client engagement. Core Qualifications A postsecondary engineering diploma or degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Exceptional attention to detail and selfchecking skills. An innovative thinker capable of challenging existing practices. Ability to switch between tasks and assignments as required. Excellent teamwork skills in complex and changing environments. High standards of professional and personal ethics and integrity. Strong capacity for teamwork and interpersonal/social skills. Technical Qualifications Minimum 2 years experience as a CADD Operator/Designer in transit projects. Experience in relevant rail transit communications technology and standards, and railway networking. Proficiency in 2D & 3D drafting tools for layout and design (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit). Proven track record in the creation and formatting of CADD drawings for consistency and professionalism. Experience in control and registration of drawings with multiple versions. Familiarity with TTC/Metrolinx CADD standards and required drawing production. Critical attention to specifications, details, and project deadlines. Desirable Qualifications Proven leadership and management skills. Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and across business units with little or no supervision. Adaptability to changes in direction and priorities in a deadlineoriented environment. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio). Excellent interpersonal soft skills, including communication, presentation, leadership, and report writing. Experience in a consulting engineering environment is an asset.
