Position Title: Adult Choir Accompanist Organization: SSUC (Spiritual Seekers United in Community/Southminster-Steinhauer United Church, ) Responsible To: Choral Director Position Type: Part time. $25 per hour for an estimated hours per week (excluding June/July/August). Exact details to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Position Summary The accompanist will provide accompaniment at weekly choir and womens quartet rehearsals (Thursdays 6:45-9:00 pm) and accompany the choir on scheduled Sunday mornings (9:15-11:15 am.) during the gathering. There may be additional accompaniment needed for special occasions such as Advent, Christmas and Easter. The choral season runs from September to May. Requirements Equivalent of Grade 8 Royal Conservatory Piano certification. Ability to work closely with the choral director. Strong sight-reading abilities. Ability to lead choral warm-ups and rehearse choral parts. Ability to play full accompaniments. Ability to commute to the church for rehearsal and Sunday gatherings.
