City of West Kelowna Skate Lesson Assistant Under the direction of the Recreation Program and Event Coordinator, the City of West Kelowna is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, independent people to supervise public skating programs and assist on ice during skating lessons for the 2026 season. Our ideal candidate: Minimum age 16 Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate an asset Strong skating ability Experience working or volunteering with children Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the general public Job Duties Assist lead instructor during skating lessons Ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants during skating sessions Greeting attendants and maintaining accurate attendance Administer adequate first aid when needed Prepare, maintain, and store equipment, ensuring it is clean and ready for use Collection of skating fees and balancing of cash Supervise the use of rental skates Perform light janitorial and custodial duties Available Shifts Power Skating - Tuesday 3:00-4:00pm Afterschool Learn to Skate 3:30 5:15pm Pay Rate The hourly rate is $18.83-$20.71 based on education and experience.
