Campus Security Officer Key Duties and Responsibilities Conduct regular security patrols of assigned areas Stand and walk for extended periods during shifts Monitor surroundings and identify suspicious activity Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies Manage interactions with vagrants and intoxicated persons professionally Use radios, codes, and site communication systems effectively Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and emergency services Prepare accurate incident reports and logs Observe and document events with strong attention to detail Follow company policies and site-specific procedures Maintain a professional security presence and customer service approach Position Requirements and Qualifications Valid British Columbia Basic Security Training (BST) Minimum 1 year of security experience (required) OFA Level 1 (asset) Strong verbal conflict de-escalation skills Proficient in English (verbal and written) Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and security-related technology Physically capable of standing and patrolling for long periods Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills Professional, disciplined, honest, and ethical approach Ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team Ability to follow procedures and established routines Flexible availability
