Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary School Teacher who can teach both Mathematics (including Calculus) and Physics to high school students (BC Curriculum, Grades 1012). Duties & Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans in Mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus) and Physics (mechanics, electromagnetism, and related topics). Design and implement curriculum aligned with educational standards, incorporating modern teaching methods and learning technology tools. Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, projects, and laboratory experiments; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Facilitate laboratory activities to deepen scientific understanding. Mentor students individually or in groups, offering academic advising, tutoring, and guidance on research projects. Manage classroom environments to promote positive behavior, engagement, and inclusive participation among diverse learners. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integrating educational resources. Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress and learning needs. Support school academic quality and compliance standards, including reporting and documentation processes (e.g., MyEd/TRAX). Qualifications BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate (required). Strong knowledge of Mathematics (including Calculus) and Physics, with experience teaching Grades 1012. Experience teaching BC or AP-level courses is an asset. Experience in curriculum design, assessment, and use of educational technology. Excellent classroom management, communication, and mentorship skills.
