Our client, a leader in their field is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Canadian Controller in managing the overall financial operations of a manufacturing plant. This role works closely with plant operations and management and plays a key role in monitoring cost performance to assess data accuracy, production efficiency, and profitability. The Financial Analyst will ensure a timely and accurate month-end close by performing key accounting duties and maintaining the accuracy of financial transactions. The role also involves preparing month-end financial entries, conducting monthly and quarterly reporting and financial statement analysis, and partnering with the Canadian Controller and Director of Finance to review and present results to management. In addition, the Financial Analyst will support operating budget preparation, analyze actual-to-budget variances, respond to senior management inquiries, complete special projects, and help maintain internal controls in accordance with group accounting policies and internal control frameworks. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and managing local Financial and Cost Accounting functions, including: - Coordinating and monitoring job costs to ensure accurate transactional processing Performing monthly cost analysis (labour efficiencies, cost variances, etc.) Inventory reporting and analysis to improve quality and increase inventory turns Monitoring completed jobs to identify input errors and anomalies through variance analysis Identifying and explaining causes of variances Balancing intercompany accounts Performing inventory adjustments as required Reconciling all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis Completing tasks outlined in the monthly close checklist (journal entries, etc.) Responding to audit inquiries and documentation requests Identifying and implementing process improvements Executing other duties as required Qualifications: - Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA designation is an asset) Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience Prior experience with month-end close and financial analysis Manufacturing industry experience Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is an asset but not required Candidate Profile: - Strong work ethic with a positive, collaborative team attitude High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions Excellent analytical, planning, prioritization, and execution skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Well-organized with strong time management and prioritization abilities Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail in all areas of work Our client offers a full comprehensive remuneration package and if interested please email ASAP REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN A CASH BONUS For details, click here.
