Working Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada We are looking for a Construction Supervisor to join our team in Toronto, Canada for a dynamic and fast paced new role for the OnCorr Project at Alstom Canada. The Construction Supervisor shall be the point of contact for all external Suppliers and Contractors, perform administrative duties related to the management and operation of the Construction sites, facilities and always respecting safety requirements and policies in relation to EHS. Responsibilities Manage external contractors related to construction activities for the project. Monitor contractor Quality & Performance in accordance with established objectives and goals. Support the construction activities for new projects along the Lake shore East and West Corridors. Seek to continuously improve processes, systems and operational activities. Assist with the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities as needed. Assist with compliance program requests, analysis and reporting. Serve as a liaison with Project Management reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress and delays. Protectively identify and resolve any site issues that may impede the project delivery while providing technical knowledge and inputs to assist contractors. Identify or verify reported clashes and coordination issues between contractor activities. Lead work area handover/handback, documenting any snags and tracking punchlist items. Complete subcontractor technical evaluations. Lead actions on planning, risks, opportunities, and technical interfaces. Ensure compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies and standards. Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices within the project and product line. Assess the progress of work against the schedule and report back to project management. Ensure all necessary permits are available before the start of work. Ensure all work completed are based on approved drawings. Lead and monitor all contractors comply to only working on planned activities per the daily job briefings. Identify and report on any deviations of installation from approved drawings as well as reporting any EHS hazards and/or non-compliance. Coordinate all concurrent activities in the area and issue daily reports. Assist management and staff with daily operational reporting, and all site requests as necessary. Assist with the coordination of and scheduling of maintenance activities as needed. Contribute to weekly schedule review meetings. Participate in daily job briefings onsite. Participate in 4M review meetings and contribute to EHS compliance/trainings prior to commencement of work. Perform daily site walks to ensure a clean, safe and well maintained and organized environment. Occasional weekend and after-hours support may be required at times. Main Required Competences Educational Requirements Experienced Construction and Supervision background an asset. Desired Knowledge / Experience 5 years in similar positions.
