About The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning, the Mine Engineer Mineral Reserves & Technical Services will be a key member of the Corporate Technical Services team, working in close collaboration with site-based Mine Engineering and Geology teams, as well as external consultants. The Mine Engineer will focus on supporting and strengthening mineral reserves and life-of-mine planning through: Technical review and input into mining studies (conceptual, PEA, PFS, FS) led by contractors Design and optimization support for underground mine plans and schedules Integration of technical, cost, and risk assumptions into corporate planning Coordination and support for reserve-related work and corporate standards This role is ideal for an underground mine engineer with solid experience in mine planning (short, medium, and long-term), stope and level design, and optimization tools, who enjoys technical work, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing mine and study outcomes at the corporate level. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties Support the Director, Strategic Planning in the coordination and delivery of corporate mining studies and technical initiatives related to mineral reserves and life-of-mine planning. Work closely with site Mine Engineering and Geology teams to align mine designs, schedules, and reserve assumptions with corporate guidelines and study scopes. Provide technical input and review for external engineering studies (conceptual, PEA, PFS, FS), including: mine design criteria, development and stope layouts, production schedules, and key cost/operating assumptions. Assist in the preparation, review, and documentation of mine design bases and planning standards used for reserves and long-term planning. Support underground mine design and optimization work, including: Stope optimization (e.g., DSO or equivalent tools) Development layout and sequencing Production scheduling from short- to long-term horizons Trade-off and sensitivity analyses on mining methods, cut-off grade, and production rates Collaborate with Corporate Resource and Geology teams to ensure mine designs and schedules are consistent with resource models, modifying factors, and reporting standards. Contribute to the preparation of inputs for NI 43-101 Technical Reports and internal reserve/LOM updates, under the guidance of Qualified Persons (QPs). Assist in the compilation and review of technical sections of study reports and internal decision-support packages (memos, presentations, design basis documents, etc.). Provide technical support to site teams on planning tools, workflows, and templates for mine design and scheduling as required. Participate in the review of operating performance versus plan (development, production, and reserves) to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Support continuous improvement of mine planning processes, standards, and digital tools across the company. Travel to mine sites as required to collect data, align with site engineering teams, and participate in planning and review meetings. Qualifications And Experience Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years of experience in underground mine engineering, with exposure to both short-term and long-term planning. Eligibility for, or registration as, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province is preferred. Experience in narrow-vein or structurally complex underground gold mining is an asset. Proficiency with mine design and planning software (e.g., Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, or similar) including stope optimization and scheduling modules. Solid understanding of mineral reserves concepts, modifying factors, and mine planning principles from stope to life-of-mine level. Experience supporting or reviewing technical studies (conceptual, PEA, PFS, FS) is an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills (including advanced Excel). Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and presentations. Proven ability to work effectively in a corporate environment with multiple stakeholders, including site operations, consultants, and corporate teams.
