BIM Designers play a critical role in delivering highquality dataenhanced models and the resulting drawings to our clients. Within the Arup team this involves overall project planning, detailed design development, and coordination between all disciplines, managing and adhering to office/Regional/client BIM standards. BIM Designers are at the forefront of digital production innovations (automation and data accessibility) and must be able to implement new tools on the fly and train others to do the same. We are currently searching for a dynamic BIM Designer or a Senior BIM Designer with expertise in Mechanical design and concept to join our expanding Mechanical division. In this role you will collaborate closely with design engineers from various subject areas, contributing your expertise to our multidisciplinary projects. Opportunity Drafting Mechanical design and concept with BIM Workflow such as BIM Execution Plans, LOD (Level of Development) Matrix, MEA (Model Element Authors). Work closely with engineers and designers to create models and drawing sets documentation and archiving across teams to ensure an overall design fits together and satisfies each teams requirements. Use workflows to review BIM models to ensure model data is consistent and aligned with project contractual requirements and model health checks. Apply data insights, craft and implement workflows that address code compliance and interference checking issues in project models. Proactively communicate design coordination issues to the design team and implement their resolution. Provide technical support and mentoring as required for the project team. Cocreate digital inception plans with project managers, host training, onboarding and BIM Kickoff sessions and prepare support training documentation. Bachelors or Associate degree in Building Services or industry equivalent. 3+ years of experience working in Mechanical design/construction industry. Proven understanding of the BIM Workflow such as BIM Execution Plans, LOD (Level of Development) Matrix, MEA (Model Element Authors). Must have excellent knowledge and skill in Mechanical modelling and familiarity in Multidiscipline (SMEP) modelling using Autodesk Revit is an asset. Proficiency in recognized modelling authoring platform Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar. Proficiency in a recognized Coordination authoring platform or application ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) Model Coordination, Navisworks, Revizto or similar. Knowledge of a recognised modelling authoring platform Rhino, SolidWorks or similar. Must not require sponsorship, now or in the future, to be considered for this role. The ability to communicate ideas, issues, and solutions to design team members and leadership. Presentation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and team collaboration skills crucial for building internal and external client relations. Knows to work with team but also knows how to work with minimal direction. Direct collaboration with the design teams to develop Mechanical BIM models. Toronto Hiring Range The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
