Position: Senior Applications Architect Duration: 8 Months assignment (contract) Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday) Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) Note on Assignment Type This position is provisionally Onsite , requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM , Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager. About the Engagement We are seeking an experienced Senior Applications Architect to define, develop, and guide enterprisescale application architectures across a large, complex, and distributed environment. The successful candidate will drive architectural frameworks, reusable components, governance standards, and crossplatform integration for missioncritical systems. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping application structures, aligning technology with business needs, ensuring performance, and supporting secure, scalable, and standardsaligned solutions within Ontarios I&IT ecosystem. Scope Define and specify overall application architecture, including structure, logical components, and interrelationships. Identify reusable application components, layering strategies, interface structures, and quality-level metrics. Develop and manage crossplatform applications across large, distributed environments. Assignment Deliverables Produce checkpoint artefacts and required governance documentation for architecture review boards and enterprise standards committees. Lead the creation of logical and information data models, business architecture documents, and solution architecture specifications. Conduct detailed assessments of existing systems, identify architectural gaps, and develop modernization or integration strategies. Define reusable components, integration patterns, and interface specifications to support scalable enterprise solutions. Provide architecture input for RFPs, contribute to technical evaluation of bids, and support contract/SLA negotiations with vendors. Expertise Required Must Have: Extensive experience designing and implementing largescale application architectures. Knowledge across multiple platforms, operating systems, databases, programming languages, and communication protocols. Experience with middleware, gateways, performance considerations, and structured development methodologies. Strong background in systems analysis and design for large enterprise environments. Experience using CASE tools, modelling methodologies, metadata management, and data dictionaries. Nice to Have Knowledge of objectoriented analysis and design. Experience developing artefacts within Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies. Understanding of Information Management principles and practices. Security Clearance Required.
