Description Position at Gibraltar Mine Position Title: Advisor, Indigenous Engagement Employment Type: Full-Time Organization: Gibraltar Mine Location: Williams Lake, BC Reporting Relationship: Coordinator, Indigenous Engagement Salary Range: $81,400 to $101,700 Role Overview Reporting to the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator, the Indigenous Engagement Advisor will play an integral role supporting indigenous engagement initiatives on site and with indigenous communities. Core Responsibilities Work to foster and maintain positive relationships with local Indigenous communities and the local community. Support coordination of Indigenous Implementation Committee meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes, along with tracking of action items and Goals & Objectives. Support coordination of events, fundraising, and tours for Indigenous and local community groups. Support Human Resources Department with hiring of local Indigenous peoples and work to improve hiring success of Indigenous candidates. Work with procurement to ingrain consideration of Indigenous contractors and partners. Assist in the development and execution of social media content on various platforms. Be a safety leader and mentor to those within the department and site. Education & Experience 3+ years of administrative experience. 5+ years of experience working with Indigenous communities. Skills & Competencies Experience in planning, coordinating, and supporting public events. Demonstrated ability to review, determine the suitability of candidates, and provide recommendations. Ability to create and maintain relationships at all levels with a variety of personalities within a culturally diverse environment. Ability to provide guidance and support on cultural context and protocols. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook). Experience or working knowledge of graphic design tools (asset). Possess and maintain a valid drivers license. The Community Williams Lake has a population of approximately 12,000 but services nearly 25,000 as it is a central hub for many outlying smaller communities. Adult recreational leagues for many popular sports including hockey, soccer, and softball. A fantastic trail network for mountain biking, walking, and hiking. Dozens of nearby lakes for fishing, paddling, and camping opportunities. Close by cross country and downhill skiing venues.
