NCC Operations Officers monitor, observe, collect, analyze and report on maritime events to ensure the strategic headquarters is kept informed of: the current status of fleet assets; program delivery; and developing or ongoing incidents. Additionally, officers provide support during major incidents through alerting, coordination and information management.Work environmentLocated at 200 Kent Street in downtown Ottawa, the National Command Centre is ideally situated for active transportation, carpooling, or public transportation. The work is carried out in a secure operations environment with multiple operational tools and networks. The work requires rotational shiftwork including days, nights and weekends and will require sitting for prolonged periods, up to twelve hours, several times a week.The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is a special operating agency within National Defence. We work to ensure the safety of mariners in Canadian waters and protect Canadas marine environment.We support Canadas economic growth through the safe and efficient movement of maritime trade.
