Position Summary Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Medically Complex Care, the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care in the Medically Complex program and must meet the following criteria: Mandatory Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Two (2) years experience in a complex continuing care, geriatric nursing or rehabilitation setting Rehabilitation, Gerontology, Palliative Care Certificate Able to perform I.V. starts and venipuncture Knowledge and understanding of Continuing Care reporting systems (CCR), Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) Core Competencies Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus Self directed individual with the ability to work both independently and within an interprofessional team Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing Creative problem solver with a customer focus and patient friendly approach Proven critical thinking skills Ability to multitask and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment Well developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to establish work relationships with external partners Excellent patient assessment skills Mature, reliable individual with excellent attendance record Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority.
