Department / Unit: Protection Services/ElectronicsJob Stream: Non-ClinicalUnion: CUPEFTE: 1.00Anticipated Shift: DaysWork Arrangement: In PersonDaily Hours Worked: 7.75Annual Base Hours: 2015Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the MANAGER, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGIST is responsible for: maintaining, modifying and repairing electronic control equipment, facilities security and safety systems, automation equipment, audio-visual related equipment, clinical electronic systems, performing various installation work; assisting with maintaining inventory; and performing other related duties as assigned.ExperienceFive (5) years experience as an Electronic Technologist maintaining electronic equipment.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Grade 12 or equivalentGraduate of a recognized institute of electronics at a Certified Technologist level.Certification/Licensure/RegistrationCertified as an Electronic Engineering Technologist (CET) by CTTAM.Electrical M License issued by the province of Manitoba.Qualifications and SkillsGood understanding and experience working with computer controlled electronic control systems.Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, configure and program the following computer-based facility control systems: Electronic card access, Nurse call systems, Paging systems, Surveillance systems IP based cameras and Intercom systems.Experience maintaining audiovisual equipment, computers and related peripherals.Good interpersonal skills.Neat and tidy appearance.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts as required/requested.Physical RequirementsPhysically able to carry and move tools and equipment on ladders and platforms (up to 34 KG).St. Boniface Hospital is committed to empowering a workforce that welcomes and celebrates diversity by fostering culturally safe places for all employees.
