We''re looking for our next Content Lead, QuestMedia. Could It Be You? QuestMedia is a modern digital newsroom launched by Questrade to replace boring financial jargon with sharp, human-centered stories that help Canadians actually understand their money and the markets. Reporting to the Deputy Editor, the Content Lead will manage the end-to-end content lifecycle, from refining contributor pitches to overseeing the daily production of articles, newsletters, and multi-format deep dives. You will uphold uncompromising standards for precision and authority, provide developmental editing to freelancers, enforce a rigorous style guide, and manage fact-checking and compliance workflows. Beyond operational oversight, you will function as a strategic partner in planning reactionary and long-term content, serving as a reliable backup for the Deputy Editor. Need more details? Keep reading This role is responsible for facilitating the content production process in a timely manner, working with external contributors, and ensuring every piece of published content is authoritative, engaging, and consistent with our voice and mission. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Content strategy: Participate in strategic editorial planning, helping to develop short-form reactionary content, medium-length articles, long-form deep dives, and long-term, event-based content. Freelance management: Manage the creative workflow for external contributors, including soliciting and refining pitches and providing comprehensive editing for all submissions. Regularly consult with the Deputy Editor to determine which pitches to greenlight, assisting in the curation of the editorial calendar. Manage production workflows: Oversee the end-to-end content lifecycle (pitching and approval to editing and publication), maintaining a daily delivery cadence across all platforms, from shortform content to longform content. This includes producing and managing content for daily and weekly newsletters. Editing: Provide developmental editing to contributors, honing story narratives and ensuring all content is authoritative, engaging, and aligned with the QuestMedia voice. Enforce adherence to our style guide for accuracy, consistent voice, and Canadian financial context. Manage and oversee all fact-checking and copyediting processes to ensure uncompromising standards for accuracy, grammatical correctness, and compliance. Support newsroom operations: Serve as the reliable backup for the Deputy Editor, managing key tasks to keep the newsroom running efficiently. So are YOU our next Content Lead, QuestMedia? You are if you Have 5+ years of experience in digital media, content strategy, or journalism, preferably within the financial services or business media industry. Have experience in an editorial role managing production pipelines, high-volume content, and working with contributors. Bonus: An established roster of high-calibre, reliable freelance contributors. Have familiarity with investing, personal finance, and the market landscape, or at least enthusiasm to learn. Have proven ability to enforce style consistency and editorial rigor across a large body of work. Have strong collaborative skills, with experience working with social media, design, and internal subject-matter experts. Have the ability to balance speed and accuracy when editing content that responds to real-time developments. Have a bachelor''s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Compensation Information: Base salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate''s experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada).
