Philanthropy - Event Coordinator The opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of Major Gifts and Planned Giving , the Coordinator, Events will play a vital role in the YMCA and be responsible for an annual event fundraising program of approximately $200,000. This role will lead the coordination of the annual Peer-to-Peer Event, YMCA Annual Gala and third-party fundraising events, including relationships with donors, participants, volunteers and sponsors. Please note: This is a 12-18 month contract covering a leave. In this role, you will: Show strong support for YMCA''s mission and values. Meet or exceed annual fundraising targets. Solicit sponsorships for monetary and in-kind support. Lead and organize teams for successful fundraising events. Develop revenue strategies and maintain accurate donor records. Coordinate event wrap-up and reporting with committee support. Coordinate YMCA representation and provide briefing notes for community events. Represent YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka in the community. Understand integrated fundraising and the donor pyramid. Promote staff participation in signature events and donor support. Recruit and build positive relationships with volunteers and participants. Support corporate sponsorship efforts at the community level. Analyze results and prepare reports for future initiatives. You bring: Preferred: College/University Degree or diploma/certificate in fundraising or related field, or a combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of fundraising experience. Ability to inspire teamwork, influence without authority, and achieve common goals. Proficient in website and social media management. Skilled in handling sensitive data with utmost confidentiality. Proactive, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently. Experience in project management, setting priorities, budgeting, and time management. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and relationship-building skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with database management, preferably Raisers Edge. Enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment, with a desire to learn and grow through coaching.
