The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a primary (but not exclusive) point of contact (PPOC) between Bayer and Thought Leaders (TLs) and serves as the scientific expert to facilitate education and evidence generation within the medical community. The MSL Cardiovascular Renal acts as a scientific expert and liaison between Bayer and the medical community through the dissemination and education of scientific data and material (including but not limited to clinical research, real world evidence and health economic outcomes research). The MSL establishes long-term scientific and strategic relationships with TLs (key health care professionals/scientists/stakeholders involved in research, education, guidelines and/or reimbursement) as well as with major medical associations and academic centers. The MSL facilitates TL involvement in international, national, and regional initiatives, including advisory boards, learning programs, Continuing Medical Education (CME), research and publications. The MSL also serves as a cross-functional internal partner by sharing TL insights, developing product and therapeutic area training, and contributing strategic input to market access and research activities. This is a vacant field-based permanent position for the province of British Columbia. What you will do: Exchange and dissemination of scientific educational and research information: as PPOC for assigned TLs, plan, partner and engage with TLs as a subject matter expert to disseminate, clarify and educate on scientific data, study protocols, conference abstracts, publications and clinical guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address scientific needs of stakeholders, including on-label and, as allowed, off-label discussions in alignment with local regulations. Act as primary point of contact (PPOC) for key TLs, fostering strong partnerships and serving as a trusted advisor to shape and synergize outcomes. TL identification, profiling, segmentation and engagement planning: translate local medical plans into TL engagement plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams, identifying synergies with Bayer and the medical community. Generate TL insights on current clinical practice, beliefs and unmet medical needs; document and communicate them to cross-functional partners to inform agile planning cycles. Stay abreast of latest scientific research in the therapeutic area and maintain understanding of Bayers market strategies and healthcare landscape to anticipate stakeholder needs and shape plans accordingly. Coordinate and organize scientific learning activities within the therapeutic area with TLs and Bayer partners as needed. Organize and lead regional consultant meetings related to current and evolving clinical practice, ongoing research, pipeline assets and future indications to gather insights and shape go-to-market strategies. Collect Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) ideas and facilitate IIR setup: act as PPOC for investigators and coordinate with Bayer personnel responsible for approval and study progress. Support medical operations and site management for non-interventional and interventional trials with feasibility, initiation visits and recruitment/data collection. Provide disease state and Bayer product training for internal cross-functional partners and present to external stakeholders for market access, medical/clinical operations or commercial activities as needed. Document medical information (MI) queries in alignment with MI handling procedures. Ensure full compliance with company procedures by promptly reporting adverse events, product quality or technical complaints, and any safety-related information within 24 hours. Who you are: Bachelors degree. Advanced degree in science-related field (MD, PharmD, PhD preferred). At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a customer-facing medical affairs role or related areas. Demonstrated learning agility and transferable skills to cover different therapeutic areas. Ability to work in a team environment and build productive internal/external relationships. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and timely follow-through with Thought Leaders and cross-functional partners. Experience using digital tools to develop communications, campaigns and analyze medical data to generate insights. Demonstrated business acumen and a mindset of Dynamic Shared Ownership, focusing on outcomes, collaboration and customer centricity. Must possess a valid drivers license. The base salary range for this role is between $108,000.00 and $158,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive; benefits may include health care, vision, dental, disability, and retirement plans. This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including market data, applicants skills, experience and certifications. This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If earned, total compensation may provide a Total Direct Compensation (TDC) range of $127,400.00 to $177,400.00, including base salary and possible incentives. Actual amounts may vary.
