Overview Medical Science Liaison, Ophthalmology - Quebec At Bayer were visionaries, driven to solve the worlds toughest challenges. This role acts as a primary (but not exclusive) point of contact between Bayer and Thought Leaders and as the scientific expert to facilitate education and evidence generation. This is a field-based, permanent position for the province of Quebec. What you will do Exchange and dissemination of scientific educational and research information as the PPOC for assigned TLs, planning, partnering and engaging with TLs as a subject matter expert to disseminate, clarify and educate on scientific data, study protocols, conference abstracts, publications and clinical guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address scientific needs and respond to on-label and off-label questions in alignment with local regulations. Act as primary PPOC for key TLs, fostering partnerships and acting as a trusted advisor to support win-win outcomes. Identify TLs, profile, segment and plan engagement by translating the local medical plan into actionable TL engagement plans in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Generate TL insights on current clinical practice, beliefs and unmet medical needs; document and communicate them to cross-functional partners to inform agile planning cycles. Stay current with latest scientific research in the therapeutic area and understand Bayers market strategies and the healthcare landscape to anticipate stakeholder needs and shape plans. Coordinate and organize scientific learning activities within the therapeutic area with TLs and Bayer partners. Organize and lead regional consultant meetings to gather insights and shape go-to-market strategies. Collect Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) ideas and facilitate IIR set-up; act as PPOC for investigators and coordinate with Bayer personnel for approval and study progress. Support medical operations and site management for trials (feasibility, initiation visits, recruitment/data collection) for non-interventional and interventional studies. Provide disease state and product training for internal cross-functional partners and external stakeholders as needed for market access, medical/clinical operations or commercial activities. Document medical information (MI) queries in alignment with MI handling procedures. Ensure compliance by reporting all adverse events and safety-related information within 24 hours as required. Who you are Bachelors degree; advanced degree in science-related field (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred. At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a customer-facing medical affairs role or related clinical activities. Demonstrated learning agility and transferable skills to cover different therapeutic areas as needed. Ability to work in a team environment and build productive internal and external relationships. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter; excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and timely follow-through with Thought Leaders and cross-functional partners. Experience using digital technology to develop communications, campaigns and/or analyze medical data to generate insights. Demonstrated business acumen and a mindset of Dynamic Shared Ownership with focus on outcomes and collaboration. Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to travel locally/globally for conferences. The base salary range is between $96,000 and $143,000 with potential bonuses and additional benefits. The total direct compensation range (TDC) may be $112,300 to $162,300 depending on performance.
