Reporting to Director, Retail Inventory & Merchandising, the Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of Retail portfolio strategies, including innovation pipelines, secondary packaging, and pricing initiatives, to drive sustainable sales growth and profitable retail opportunities while ensuring alignment with corporate and brand objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage short-, mid-, and long-term Retail innovation pipeline planning across finished goods, fresh goods, and secondary packaging Support the development of multi-year Retail portfolio strategies using consumer, channel, and performance insights Lead the annual Retail portfolio review, incorporating regulatory requirements, sustainability guidelines, product lifecycle changes, and national innovation priorities Prepare portfolio assessment summaries and presentation materials for senior Retail Leadership Team and executive stakeholders Develop and manage secondary packaging strategy from concept development through in-store execution Lead vendor sourcing, packaging specification selection, pricing negotiations, forecasting, and minimum order quantity management for secondary packaging initiatives Identify and evaluate channel-specific product and gifting opportunities to enhance Retail differentiation and profitability Build business cases for new portfolio initiatives and support progression through the new product development process Oversee execution of new product launches, including vendor coordination, design development collaboration, and item setup Conduct post-launch performance analysis and apply insights to future portfolio and innovation decisions Collaborate with Brand Marketing to align brand strategies with Retail channel execution for new product launches Manage supplier purchase orders, invoicing coordination, and monthly marketing investment reporting Support Retail pricing strategy development for new product launches and annual pricing reviews Coordinate pricing rollouts with cross-functional partners and oversee in-store execution accuracy Qualifications Minimum three years of experience in Merchandising or Category Management Experience working within a seasonal retail business environment, preferably within confectionery or consumer packaged goods Demonstrated experience with retail forecasting and demand planning Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong analytical and numerical aptitude with the ability to interpret performance data and market insights Effective communication and presentation skills across cross-functional stakeholders Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within team environments Creative problem-solving mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach High attention to detail combined with strong strategic and big-picture thinking capabilities Why Lindt Canada?
