Reporting to the Junior School Principal or designate, the Junior School Classroom Teacher position will commence on August 27, 2026. Key Duties and Responsibilities *These may include, but are not limited to Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and support an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning programme aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP); Build caring, respectful, and trusting relationships with students and families, recognizing the importance of partnership in learning; Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing, voice, and mutual respect; Integrate purposeful and age-appropriate technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement; Actively participate in ongoing professional learning related to the International Baccalaureate, the Primary Years Programme, and other school-based initiatives; Design, prepare, and deliver meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and authentic engagement; Select and adapt instructional strategies, resources, and learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of learners; Design and implement a range of authentic assessments that inform instruction, support student growth, and provide timely, clear feedback to students and families; Maintain accurate, current, and comprehensive records of student learning and progress for teaching, assessment, and reporting purposes; Communicate regularly and effectively with parents through reports, conferences, and ongoing dialogue to foster transparent and supportive relationships; Work collaboratively, professionally, and positively with all members of the school''s leadership team to support student learning, staff growth, and whole-school initiatives; Model professionalism, collaboration, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement in all interactions with colleagues, students, and families; Contribute actively to the life of the school by participating in community-building events during and beyond the school day; Share expertise, enthusiasm, and leadership in co-curricular activities that enrich student learning and strengthen school culture; Demonstrate strong, research-informed pedagogical practice in literacy and numeracy across the primary years; Demonstrate a shared commitment to the school''s mission and vision, and work collaboratively to support the school''s long-term growth and sustainability. Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to the school''s Co-Curricular and/or Athletic offerings two out of three terms. Perform other teaching or supervisory duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor of Education or equivalent; BC Ministry of Education: Certificate of Qualification; Preference may be given to teachers with at minimum 1-2 years of experience and those with PYP experience; Valid First-Aid certificate Salary Southpointe''s teacher salary grid is at 6% above the Delta public school salary grid at all levels of the grid; The annual salary for a full-time teaching position at Southpointe Academy during the school year ranges from $68,422 to $116,091 based on placement on the approved teacher salary grid; The Southpointe salary grid will increase at a percentage to be determined for the school year. Placement on the approved teacher salary grid is based on level of qualifications and duration of full-time teaching experience.
