Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic; document treatment details accurately and ensure compliance with medical documentation standards. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure a positive experience. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer questions about procedures or billing processes. Maintain infection control protocols by following established sterilization procedures and managing inventory of dental supplies. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist team and managing medical records for seamless patient flow. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; proficiency in medical coding and documentation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Certification in chairside assisting along with CPR certification preferred; additional training in endodontics or prosthodontics is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices while maintaining attention to detail.
