English JOB TITLE: Maintenance Field Employee Temporary EMPLOYER & WORKPLACE LOCATION: Notre Dame Cemetery 455 ch. Montral Rd. Ottawa, ON K1K 0V2 JOB TYPE: Full-time -Temporary. Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 7:30 am to 4:00 p.m. (including a 30 min unpaid lunch break). This posting is for a current open position ROLE SUMMARY The Maintenance Employee participates in the landscaping and maintenance of the cemetery as well as the maintenance of the buildings. He/she is capable of using some of the machinery and equipment. This position has the potential to become seasonal, subject to a performance review. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Mow the lawn with a lawn tractor and/or lawnmower, as well as edges with a gas-powered trimmer Maintain flowerbeds (pull weeds) and trim tree branches Maintain beautiful appearance of the grounds by cleaning up debris (dead flowers, tree branches, etc.), blowing and picking up leaves Empty the trash Ensure the maintenance of the roads (fills the holes with rocks, earth and asphalt) Participate in the construction of the foundations of the tombstones: dig respecting the expected size, prepare the hole for the cement. Once the foundation is ready, provide support to the service provider for the installation of the monument Participate in the maintenance and cleaning of the buildings, including the cleaning of the windows Ensure the maintenance of equipment, tools and machinery Perform any other related duties as requested by the supervisor QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS High school diploma Experience in landscaping work or construction Experience using a Bacho or heavy equipment is an asset Ability to comply with instructions Demonstrates rigour Ability to work in a team environment A valid driver''s license and a clear driving record Recent and satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check processed by the Archdiocese. COMPENSATION $21.91 CAD per Hour, as per the collective agreement. RESPONSABILITS PRINCIPALES Tondre le gazon l''aide d''un tracteur gazon et/ou d''une tondeuse, et effectuer les bordures l''aide d''un coupe-bordures essence Entretenir les plates-bandes (dsherbage) et tailler les branches d''arbres Maintenir l''esthtique des terrains en ramassant les dbris (fleurs fanes, branches d''arbres, etc.), en soufflant et en ramassant les feuilles Vider les poubelles Assurer l''entretien des routes (remplir les trous avec de la pierre, de la terre et de l''asphalte) Participer la construction des fondations des monuments funraires : creuser selon les dimensions requises et prparer les trous pour le bton.
