The full Plan can be viewed on Career Opportunity We are currently seeking a Track Maintenance Specialist to support our Streetcar Way Engineering team Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Track Maintenance Specialist provides track maintenance expertise for investigation and assessment of the condition of the Streetcar track network. This involves assisting track design engineers in developing safe, reliable, and efficient track system solutions; performing design reviews for feasibility and maintainability; providing input into design and improvement of track components and systems; offering expertise in maintenance and construction methodology; inspecting, assessing, diagnosing site conditions, and conducting root cause analysis. What You Will Do As the Track Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting Streetcar Way Maintenance crews in a range of maintenance, repair, and replacement projects. The Track Maintenance Specialist will undertake studies aimed at improving overall performance, enhancing operational efficiency, and reducing costs across the system. In this role, you will assist engineers in designing and reengineering track components and systems, while also providing technical input for specifications and construction-related activities. The Track Maintenance Specialist will study problem areas to determine root causes and recommend effective corrective actions. You will be responsible for reviewing shop drawings, inspecting track materials, and offering informed input on designs related to external work. In addition, you will use your track expertise to assess proposed procedural, design, or material changes to ensure quality and suitability. You will assist in the development and execution of Capital project scopes, as well as inspect special track work, tangent and curved track, and associated fasteners. In addition, you will recommend and help implement improvement initiatives, and you will advise crews and engineers on the efficient use of labour, materials, and operational resources. In this role you will also support the development of both capital and operating budgets, conduct periodic inspections of Streetcar tracks, determine track quality indices, and identify areas approaching maintenance tolerance limits. Finally, you will help develop inspection methods and participate actively in operational and technical decisionmaking. Skills Apply analytical skills. What Qualifications Do You Bring University Degree or College Degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience in the track and design field deemed to be equivalent. Your application will reveal track maintenance expertise including sound knowledge of track maintenance principles, methods, practices, and techniques related to track inspection, construction, maintenance, and emergency repair. You must have the ability to read design drawings and use spreadsheet applications. Your application will reveal the ability to carry out feasibility and constructability studies; evaluate alternative proposals; and assess construction and maintenance impacts. Must be familiar with industry standards such as American Railway Engineering Maintenance Association (AREMA).
