Job Overview: Position(s): Environmental Lead Shift Schedule: varies based on project Location: Canada (primarily Manitoba & Ontario) Forbes Bros Ltd . is seeking an energetic Environmental Lead (Full time, Permanent) to join their dynamic team across Canada working on multiple projects. This position requires extensive travel (up to 90%) and a strong field presence, practical construction experience, and the ability to translate environmental commitments into clear, implementable action for construction teams. The Environmental Lead will be responsible for providing environmental leadership, ensuring that corporate and project operational activities undertaken or proposed by Forbes Bros Ltd. (FBL), are compliant with environmental requirements, including client specifications, environmental management frameworks, and other commitments as needed. What We Offer: Competitive Hourly Wage Comprehensive health benefits plan Enrolment in Pension Program Eligibility for Per Diem (may vary per project) Paid Vacation Days and Stat Holiday Pay Meal and Accommodation Allowance Annual boot allowance of $250 & annual clothing allowance of up to $900 Company assigned vehicle, gas card, credit card, phone and laptop Family orientated working environment Opportunities for career growth and development Key Responsibilities: Emulates Forbes Bros core value of ''WE WORK SAFE'' in all daily tasks Supporting the project Environmental Specialists with responsibilities outlined below Providing day-to-day environmental leadership and technical guidance to construction, project management, subcontractor, and field crew team(s) Support project teams with the development of environmental management plans, reporting templates, permit applications and tracking, and any other pre- or post-construction requirements Conduct or oversee environmental field coordination activities and inspections, including but not limited to erosion and sediment control, spill prevention, wildlife, access management, and reclamation activities Experience in leading the implementation of environmental management plans and requirements for transmission line construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, local, and client-specific environmental approvals, permits, and other commitments Evaluating compliance with industry best management practices, environmental mitigation measures outlined in project-specific environmental management frameworks. Identify environmental risks and non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and track close-out to completion Monitoring and proactive reporting of any potential environmental issues to the Environmental Manager, Director of Environment, and Construction Manager as required, including recommendations and implementation strategies for the appropriate corrective actions Prepare environmental reports, inspection records, incident reports in accordance with internal and external requirements Deliver environmental training and orientations to project personnel to promote environmental awareness and compliance Working closely with construction crews, and client environmental representatives to ensure requirements are implemented Support additional projects, initiatives, or assignments as required to meet operational and business needs Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of environmental plans and supporting materials as required What We Are Looking For: Bachelor''s degree in environmental sciences, biology, ecology, natural resource management, or equivalent related discipline Five (5) + years'' experience as an environmental lead or equivalent role on active construction projects, including direct involvement with field execution, is required Environmental experience supporting construction projects, preferably power transmission, pipeline, or other major utilities, is required Able and willing to travel up to 90% of the time to and from various project locations in Canada Professional designation or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional regulatory association (e.g. RPBio, P.Biol., RTAg, P.Ag.) is considered an asset.
