Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, implementing, and managing the Company''s occupational health and safety program across all operations, including shop, office, and field environments. This role works closely with the Employees, Managers and Owners to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and applicable legislation, and reduce workplace injuries and incidents. This position is collaborative and supportive in nature and does not replace supervisory responsibility for safety, but plays a critical role in strengthening accountability, consistency, and awareness across the organization. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Occupational Health and Safety Program Assist with creating Safety Policies Conduct Regular Inspections Provide Health and Safety related Training and Coaching Investigate Incidents Produce daily, weekly and monthly safety reports Travel to job sites to monitor field operations Ensure the Health and Safety Program is practical, current and consistently applied across all departments Maintain accurate safety documents and records Purchasing of Health and Safety supplies and equipment through an approval system Ensure and monitor appropriate use of PPE Document and Report to WorkSafeBC Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee Ensure JHSC recommendations are reviewed and addressed Skills and Attributes Positive Attitude and Mindset Safety Oriented Strong attention to detail Ability to work with a team and independently Self driven and reliable Qualifications Level 2 first aid OHS Training Technological competencies, including the use of Microsoft Office Minimum 2 years experience in a safety coordinator position in a Shop Environment Ability to arrive to work on time Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 per week Benefits: Dental care Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Ability to commute/relocate: Parksville, BC V9P 2W8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: EHS: 2 years (required) Work Location: In person
