Position Summary The Deli Associate provides exceptional customer service by preparing, slicing, weighing, and packaging high-quality meats and cheeses. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of deli products, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate is friendly, efficient, and passionate about specialty foods. Job Structure This is a part-time hourly position. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as required. Paid vacation accrual at 4%. Responsibilities Greet customers courteously and provide knowledgeable assistance with deli selections. Slice, weigh, and package meats, cold cuts, and cheeses to customer specifications. Maintain proper product presentation and restock displays as needed. Operate deli slicers, scales, and wrapping equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure all deli products are fresh, properly labeled, and rotated according to ''first in, first out'' (FIFO) standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli case, prep areas, and equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines (including proper glove use and temperature checks). Provide samples or recommendations to customers, highlighting product features or pairings. Assist in inventory control, including receiving, storing, and tracking stock levels. Work collaboratively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications: Previous deli, grocery, or food service experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of meats, cheeses, and specialty products a plus. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Comfortable operating deli equipment safely (training provided). Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
