Job Summary We are an elevated Indian restaurant focused on craftsmanship, balance, and consistency. We are seeking an experienced Tandoor Cook who understands both the tradition and discipline required to execute tandoor cooking at a refined level. This role is ideal for someone who respects technique, values cleanliness and precision, and takes pride in delivering the same quality on every plate, whether it''s the first order of the night or the last. Key Responsibilities Execute tandoor preparations including breads, kebabs, and tandoori mains with consistency and precision Manage tandoor temperature, timing, and workflow during service Prepare and handle marinades, proteins, and doughs according to established standards Maintain high levels of presentation, portion control, and flavor accuracy Ensure the tandoor station is clean, organized, and service-ready at all times Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols strictly Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service Participate in prep, closing duties, and continuous improvement of kitchen operations Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2 years of hands-on tandoor experience in a professional kitchen Strong understanding of Indian spices, marinades, and traditional cooking techniques Ability to work efficiently in a high-heat, fast-paced environment Calm, focused, and disciplined approach during service Strong work ethic and respect for kitchen structure and standards Valid authorization to work in Canada Food Handler Certificate What We Offer Competitive compensation based on skill and experience A professional, structured kitchen environment Consistent scheduling Opportunity to grow within a quality-driven restaurant Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 40 per week Benefits: Discounted or free food Ability to commute/relocate: Toronto, ON M6G 1B1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Experience: Restaurant: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
