Description As an Industrial Engineer in our luxury goods manufacturing plant, you will be a pivotal force in shaping and optimizing our production processes. Your primary mission will be to develop and implement advanced process strategies, manage resources efficiently, and continuously optimize existing operations to enhance overall efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve critical business objectives. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles, and the ability to drive operational excellence throughout the organization while upholding the high-quality standards synonymous with luxury goods. The Industrial Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, develop and execute Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, and establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure sustainable results. This position is instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making. Key Responsibilities Drive Production Efficiency Projects Lead workstation and assembly cell design and optimization, ensuring ergonomic and efficient setups that meet luxury product quality requirements. Conduct time studies and head count rationalization to optimize labor allocation and productivity without compromising craftsmanship. Design and implement optimal material flow and production layouts, considering the delicate handling of luxury materials. Utilize Value Stream Mapping to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in the production of luxury goods. Analyze lead time, throughput, and bottlenecks to implement impactful improvements, maintaining high standards of quality and exclusivity. Monitor production trends, recommend proactive actions, and engage production teams in continuous improvement efforts. Apply statistical and business process analysis to support evidence-based decision-making for process enhancements. Foster a Lean Management Culture Develop, communicate, and implement Lean Management strategies and policies tailored to the unique demands of luxury manufacturing. Provide professional Lean Management expertise and guidance to the organization, promoting a culture of waste reduction and efficiency. Train and coach employees and leaders on Lean methodologies and tools. Define and develop business improvement processes that reflect industry best practices and the specific needs of luxury production. Act as an expert change manager, influencing stakeholders to achieve buy-in for sustainable organizational change initiatives. Process Development and Optimization Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Collaborate with equipment vendors to define equipment requirements and specifications that meet precise luxury manufacturing standards. Solicit observations from operators to gain insights into process challenges and opportunities. Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned production process projects from inception to completion. Develop and implement sustainable solutions by establishing standard workflows for new and existing products, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and quality. Reporting and Analysis Prepare comprehensive product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actionable insights. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor''''s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the manufacturing sector, with a preference for experience in luxury goods or a similar high-precision manufacturing environment. Proven experience in implementing Lean methodologies and process improvement programs. Demonstrated experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, creativity, and employee involvement in problem-solving and decision-making processes. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and support evidence-based decision-making. Proficient in job task planning and organizing, with significant use of memory and information retrieval. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality assurance, suppliers, and customers to promote a Lean culture. Minimum 3 years'''' experience with AutoCAD for layout updates Sigma Green Belt certification and/or Automation experience are a significant asset Competencies Analytical and Problem-Solving - Adept at analyzing complex systems, identifying bottlenecks, and developing innovative solutions to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This includes strong data analysis, statistical methods, and root cause analysis. Process Mapping and Optimization - Ability to meticulously document, analyze, and re-engineer manufacturing processes to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and enhance output. This involves value stream mapping, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma - A solid understanding and practical application of Lean principles (e.g., waste reduction) and Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., DMAIC) to drive efficiency and quality. Strong understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and their significance in driving continuous improvement Cost Analysis and Justification - Ability to perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements and develop compelling justifications for investment in new technologies or processes. Safety and Quality Focus - Knowledge of ergonomic principles to design safe and efficient workstations and processes, reducing worker fatigue and injuries. A strong commitment to ensuring safe working environments and maintaining high-quality production standards. Time and Motion Study - The ability to conduct detailed time and motion studies to establish standard times, optimize work methods, and improve labor utilization. Adaptability and Flexibility - The capacity to respond quickly to changes in production demands, market conditions, and technological advancements.
