About The Role PowerCo Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Specialist, Injection & Closing VSM to join our team for the battery cell production line in St. Thomas. In this role, you will be responsible for proposing, developing, presenting, and coordinating planning concepts for machinery and the plant, involved in the production of battery cell factories covering process steps including electrode processes, cell assembly processes, formation and aging processes, cell finishing and testing processes. This position is inperson and located in the charming town of St. Thomas, ON. Key Responsibilities Perform tasks related to cell manufacturing for battery cell production plants, including electrode processes, cell assembly processes, formation and aging processes, cell finishing and testing processes and support on continuous improvements. Implement equipment concepts for cell production machinery and plants and coordinate the realization and operation of these concepts, ensuring adherence to defined measures. Assess, design, and ensure the application of new technologies and compliance with both external and internal regulations (e.g., quality and production targets). Document issues and lead the efforts in finding optimized solutions. Investigate and identify root causes of equipment failures, and summarize and communicate lessons learned. Professionally coordinate and guide employees involved in the equipment planning process; train other employees on technical topics. Lead subprojects of equipment planning from the concept phase through to process implementation in mass production, ensuring a smooth production start and defining the production KPI's accordingly. Work on and provide guidance on the certification and permitting process of cell manufacturing equipment in Canada. Lead the machine design reviews, FAT, installation, commissioning, and SOP. Guide equipment suppliers to install and commission the cell manufacturing equipment. Lead SAT and work with equipment suppliers for specific process areas. Lead the equipment handover to the production team, together with maintenance experts. What You Bring To The Team Bachelors degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, materials, chemical or electrochemical engineering, or a related major. Direct experience in designing/planning battery cell equipment or extensive experience in battery cell manufacturing. Deep knowledge about manufacturing feasibility, method plan validation, design principles, measurement process validation, PFEMA, MES. Experience in working in corporate supplierscustomer relationships. Actionoriented work style and strong drive of results. Integrity and valuedriven working style, compliant with rules and regulations. Experience in the initial phase of a battery cell production plant would be considered an asset. Working experience with automotive OEMs is an asset. Experience in mass production of automotive components is an asset. Experience with supplier management is an asset. Power Perks Attractive remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is $98,160 $147,250 CAD, which includes base pay and target amount of shortterm incentive plan.
