Your Role We are looking for a Finance Operations Specialist who values clear processes, dependable routines and accurate work, and who is eager to work smarter by using technology and automation. This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who enjoys structured accounting tasks and is motivated to improve how those tasks are carried out. What Youll Be Doing FullCycle Bookkeeping Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable endtoend. Handle credit card expenses, including coding and receipt management. Enter, code and process vendor invoices. Prepare and send customer invoices and follow up on overdue accounts. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger. Banking & Reconciliation Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. Record daily deposits, payments and cash transactions. Monitor cash flow and flag discrepancies or issues. Financial Reporting Prepare monthend and yearend financial statements. Generate internal management reports (e.g., AR aging, AP aging, cash flow). Support accountants with yearend working papers. Maintain accurate and organised financial records. Payroll Administration Prepare and maintain all financerelated payroll documentation. Administer US payroll with supervision, ensuring all required federal, state and local payroll taxes, remittances and filings are completed accurately and on time. Prepare and submit all required finance reports related to Canadian payroll and benefits, including statutory remittances and other reporting. Act as a backup contact for payroll changes to the external payroll provider. Work closely with HR to ensure accurate capture of payroll changes. Maintain accurate payrollrelated general ledger accounts and support yearend audit requirements. Compliance & Filings Prepare and file GST/PST/HST returns. Submit payroll deductions and government remittances. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements. Systems & Process Improvement Identify inefficiencies and improve workflows. Assist with budgeting and forecasting tasks. Implement best practices in financial control. What Youll Bring Required 35+ years of fullcycle bookkeeping experience. Strong interest in digital transformation and automation within finance operations. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles (or equivalent). Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, reconciliations and internal management reports. Proficiency with accounting software (ideally NetSuite). Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas). Knowledge of Canadian payroll and financerelated payroll processes, including journal entries, reconciliations and statutory remittances. Confidence managing compliance tasks such as GST/PST/HST filings and remittances. Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and maintain structured records. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable with routine processes and recurring monthly cycles. Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues and follow through to resolution. Clear and professional communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with HR, external payroll providers and internal teams. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Proactive and solutionoriented mindset. Preferred (NicetoHave) Skills Bookkeeping or accounting diploma/certificate. Payroll certification (e.g., PCP from CPA Canada). Location This role is based in our Vancouver office. It is an onsite role with some flexibility.
