Our TorontoJobs.ca client located in Mississauga, in the tech space, is looking for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, including account reconciliations and analysis, month-end close procedures, banking activities, overseeing Canadian, U.S Payroll & compliance, and tax filings.This is an exciting high growth opportunity for an individual to both improve upon current processes as well as create new processes and reporting for the business, with the upcoming rollout of new ERP system.This role will be reporting the Director of Finance and has a growth plan in place for the upcoming months.The successful candidate will also receive a generous compensation package with bonuses and benefits.Job Requirements:WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Combination of Corporate experience and public accounting experience (ideally from a larger public accounting firm)Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or government regulations.Ability to communicate in English clearly, both written and orallyKnowledge of accounting principles and practicesMaintain confidential nature of data/informationStrong problem solving and analytical skillsComputer skills: working with QuickBooks, MS Dynamics 365, Office 365, Google WorkspaceAbility to work collaboratively with fellow colleaguesWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Assisting with overseeing day-to-day full-cycle accounting processesSupport month-end and year-end close processesMaintain prepaid register, prepare & enter journal entries into the systemMaintain fixed assets register, prepare & enter journal entries into the systemPrepare and post all the journal entries into the systemReconciliation of various general ledger accountsBank reconciliation and banking activitiesCoordination of client billing, cash receipts, and collection managementCoordination of vendor invoice entries and payment managementCoordination of employee expense managementCoordination of Canadian and U.S Payroll processing and complianceGeneral support and working with the accounting teamTax filings, reconciliations, and audits as they occurAssist in the preparation of financial statements and reportsReconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account informationPreparation of audit working papersEnsure compliance with ASPE and internal controlsSuggest ways to improve processes, efficiencies, and spendingOther duties and special projects as assignedWHAT YOU BRING:5+ years of relevant experience with full-cycle financial accounting and processes, including inventory managementCompletion of CPA designation.Hands-on experience with various accounting software packages; experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft D365 an assetAdvanced Excel skillsUnderstanding of ASPEDetail-oriented, highly organized, high degree of accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency & adherence to deadlines.Outstanding problem-solving skills and able to identify unusual entries, discrepancies, or problems, and resolve independentlyHands-on experience with various accounting software packages; experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft D365 an assetDemonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team, with a passion for making continuous improvementsGood communication and interpersonal skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
