This unique opportunity allows you to lead permitting efforts for renewable energy projects across Ontario and North America while working with the world's largest renewableenergy consultancy. You will be responsible for leading project development and environmental and permitting activities, including the preparation of local, provincial, and federal energy permit applications, associated environmental and social impact studies, stakeholder engagement sessions, and land use and zoning permit applications for energy projects located in Ontario and beyond. You will also be engaged in leading proposal efforts, business development for wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen facilities across Canada and the United States, as well as assisting with project due diligence activities. This position will be based at our Toronto office presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend at least three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Our team The EPS team is comprised of siting, environmental, permitting, and sustainability specialists who work directly with our customers to help identify and address project risks. Our mission is to guide the sustainable, responsible growth of the renewables industry by providing innovative environmental, permitting, and sustainability expertise. What Youll Do Support energy project site selection and characterization studies. Lead the preparation and submission of permit applications (REA, Class EA for Minor Transmission, ESAR, ECA), coordinate environmental fieldwork, author environmental reporting documentationincluding critical issues analyses, technical permitting studies and management plans, Phase I ESAs, environmental impact assessments, mitigation and monitoring plans, technical project proposals, agency consultation, development of process efficiencies through digitalisation and innovation, and stakeholder engagement programs. Provide support for technical due diligence reviews of environmental permits for project financing activities. Organise consulting activities with different stakeholder groups, including federal and provincial regulatory agencies such as the MECP or MNRF, local communities, and Indigenous peoples. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Ontario regulatory agencies (and other U.S. regions). Assist in business development activitiesincluding preparing proposals for each client/project, maintaining strong client relationships, and attending client meetings to support further serviceoffering expansion. Participate in DNV's thoughtleadership activities to organise publications, presentations, white papers, and other scientific and regulatory knowledgesharing activities.
