Job description: Ha''me'' Restaurant, located in Kwa''lilas Hotel, is seeking experienced food and beverage servers to join our team The perfect candidate for this position has experience in a fine dining setting and has existing knowledge of wines and pairings. Located in the traditional territories of the Kwakiutl people; ''Kwa''lilas'' translates to ''a place to sleep''. Named by the Gwa''sala-Nakwaxda''xw elders in hopes that guests may find peaceful rest after a day of exploration on North Vancouver Island. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains quality standards for the hotel food and beverage operations, including greeting patrons, making them feel welcome, and handling basic inquiries. Provides customer service through the completion of routine duties and tasks such as taking, relaying, and serving food and/or beverage orders, providing product knowledge, handling cash, credit and debit card transactions in accordance with Hotel Policies Checks on guest satisfaction and follows up on requests where possible and appropriate Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels Demonstrates a customer service attitude with internal / external contacts Cleaning tables, counters and glass ware Performing opening and closing duties as required Other duties as required Qualifications: Industry-specific certifications such as Serving It Right A minimum of 1 year experience as a server in a high end restaurant, with an understanding of wines and pairings Professional attitude and appearance Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Cash handling experience an asset Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays High attention to detail and ability to multi-task Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset Candidate must have demonstrated experience as a team player and ability to multi task Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Application question(s): Are you willing to relocate to Port Hardy?
