Job Description The Garde Manger is responsible for the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, including salads, charcuterie, dressings, hors d''oeuvres, and other refrigerated items. This role requires a strong attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a passion for precision and presentation. The Day to Day: Prepare and plate all cold menu items such as salads, dressings, cold appetizers, terrines, pts, and charcuterie. Maintain proper portion control and presentation according to restaurant standards. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated (FIFO). Assist in the creation of daily specials and seasonal menu items related to the Garde Manger station. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the station, equipment, and cold storage areas. Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations. Work closely with theChef du Cuisine and Sous Chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Monitor inventory levels for the Garde Manger station and communicate ordering needs. Support banquet and catering prep as required (e.g., canap trays, cheese boards, cold buffets). Set up and break down station at the beginning and end of each shift. Qualifications Minimum of 1 years of kitchen experience or 2 years of post secondary education Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers Have a professional attitude and appearance at all times Be able to work weekdays/weekends/holidays Must be legally able to work in Canada Additional Information This is a current Vacancy Wage: $18/hr AI Disclosure To ensure a fair and efficient recruitment process, some aspects of candidate screening may be conducted using AI software.
