You will support data-driven planning, investment attraction and policy development initiatives. You will be responsible for engaging with local businesses, maintaining accurate datasets and contributing to strategic economic development projects. As the Student, Business Attraction & Investment, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to: Represent the Town of Caledon in a professional and approachable manner Conduct face-to-face and telephone surveys with local employers to collect employment and business data Maintain, update and verify large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability Collaborate with planning, economic development, GIS and regional partners Assist with data quality assurance, reporting and special projects related to economic development The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student working towards a degree or diploma in Urban Planning, Geography, GIS, Economics or a closely related field, or equivalent, and are returning to school in Fall of 2026. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills. We are seeking an individual with superior communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, and excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate for Student, Business Attraction & Investment will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required). Satisfactory proof of schooling or return to school, may be requested.
