As a Senior Mobile Cross-platform Developer on the Analytics Team, your mission is to inform and empower the creation of excellent digital experiences by reliably capturing audience behaviours on CBC Digital Platforms. Our team is structured into specialized Analytics and Analytics Pipeline units, purposefully designed to support a data-driven culture. This dual-team approach empowers us to provide the high-velocity insights and activation capabilities necessary to serve our growing audience. This role is critical for the Analytics Team to support the growing need for a mobile library interface, similar to our existing solution for web, specifically for Android and iOS. You will lead the design and development of a new library designed to abstract complex analytics logic, ensuring data consistency across our flagship apps while collaborating with peer developers for design / code reviews and alignment. How You Will Make An Impact You will lead the creation of a new library to abstract complex analytics, acting as the primary product to ensure data consistency across mobile platforms. By focusing on Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), you will build modules that work across both Android and iOS, reducing the analytics knowledge required by front-end teams. While you will write the core library code, you will work closely with individual front-end teams to guide the integration of these modules into the flagship apps. You will support the transition of applications to a new architecture, ensuring that our Data Abstraction Layer (DAL) remains the primary product for behavioral data. You will collaborate daily with the Analytics Pipeline team, who focus on the server-side platform and infrastructure, to ensure a seamless data flow from mobile devices to our internal systems. You will assist in ideating, building, and validating new behavioral signals that help the organization drive meaningful engagement and make data-driven decisions. What You Bring To Our Team You have 3+ years of experience in mobile development. You have 2+ years of experience using a cross-platform framework or technology You are have practical experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and familiarity with Compose Multiplatform While the work is primarily KMP, you possess native knowledge of both iOS and Android systems to understand deployment and platform-specific issues. You have a data centric mindset to prioritize data integrity You use REST APIs and Graph Query Language (GQL/GraphQL) to communicate with backend services. Run-time, code quality, maintainability and scalability are key factors when you consider solutions. You proactively seek out new approaches to development and identify opportunities to improve the codebases you work with. You have a growth mindset and are curious and practical in how you explore potential solutions You believe in automated testing and will handle the unit testing for your code, collaborating with Quality Engineering on broader infrastructure and best practices. You are familiar with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and how it improves the release process. You clearly communicate your technical choices and why you made them, contributing to the team''s shared success. You use the Agile Principles for software development.
