Location Toronto Role Responsibilities Develop, review, and implement comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard information assets. Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, oversee/conduct penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify and address potential threats. Assist in security awareness training and promote a security-first culture throughout the organization. Coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, root cause analysis, remediation, and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PIPEDA). Oversee the deployment and configuration of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools. Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and evidence of security controls as needed. Stay current with applicable software and OS patches, emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements, making recommendations for improvements as appropriate. Experience with vendor onboarding assessment. Identify and perform semi-annual / annual failover and DR tests. Oversee MDM policy implementation for corporate approved devices such as Windows laptops, iOS and Android. Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff and cross-functional teams. Candidate Profile Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, network security, or related discipline, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are preferred. Strong knowledge of security frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance relevant to Canadian contexts. Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners). Experience with incident response and threat analysis. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Compensation Base salary range of $110,000-$140,000. Total compensation includes salary, variable discretionary bonus, benefits and other perks.
