Overview The Student Information System (SIS) - Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the Student Information System (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions) to ensure efficient and reliable academic and administrative operations. This role focuses on stabilizing system processes, improving collaboration between the Office of the Registrar (OTR) and Information Technology (IT) partners, managing access and configuration, and enabling business teams to effectively leverage SIS capabilities. The SIS - Operations Specialist works closely with functional and technical representatives to understand operational needs, translate them into SIS configurations, coordinate system changes, and ensure a consistent and well-governed support model. Preference will be given to qualified employees, as defined in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement. Should a suitable candidate not be found, external candidates will be considered. What Youll Be Doing Serving as a primary resource for day-to-day support of the Student Information System (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions). Monitoring system functionality, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating resolutions with IT and vendor teams. Maintaining user access governance, including role requests, permissions changes, and security auditing. Supporting environment management activities such as patches, upgrades, testing, and migration coordination. Working collaboratively with OTR, SOAP, IT, academic departments, and student services to identify operational needs and prioritize enhancements. Establishing and championing service standards, documentation practices, ticket handling workflows, and escalation processes. Developing user guides, training materials, and knowledge-base articles. Training staff and functional end-users to increase self-service capability and comfort with the system. Performing other related duties as required. About You You have a knack for thinking critically about how processes flow and how to build systems. You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and like to develop processes or systems to keep things running smoothly. You have a highly collaborative spirit and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others to support establishing and achieving collective goals. You have the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion. The Successful Candidate Will Also Meet The Following Requirements 3-year diploma/degree in Computer Science and formal training in Structured Systems Analysis and relational database technologies. Minimum 5 years experience administering, supporting, and developing in a system enterprise environment. (Equivalencies to be considered) Minimum of 2 years PeopleSoft Campus 9.2 experience or comparable Student Information System (i.e. Ellucian/Banner/Colleague) experience that includes administration, configuration, setup and support. Must have experience with SQL. Experience with development tools and utilities, third-party reporting tools, and web technologies. Demonstrated project management and business analysis.
