How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The GIS & Data Analyst provides data management, technical support and analytical services for TRCA''''s GIS and Analytics portfolios.Supports the design and development of spatial and non-spatial analytics services, including data modelling and visualization projects. Major Responsibilities: Provides 1st and 2 nd level response for GIS and analytics applications, supports troubleshooting and problem management, and coordinates escalations as appropriate. Supports business users and SMEs to leverage GIS and data technologies in spatial and non-spatial analysis Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems in data resources and toolsets Supports testing and troubleshooting on systems and hardware Web, software and GIS mobile application development Implements and performs Analysis, Modelling and Application development using industry leading spatial analysis software, modelling tools and techniques and software development tools Supports the development of models and data visualization products and supports internal and public data services. This role supports and maintains corporate data assets, through updates, meta data management and quality reviews to ensure high quality data resources to support analysis and decision-making. Contributes to the design and implementation of data models, metadata, database creation, management, backup, data acquisition protocols, dissemination, documenting methodologies Maintains accuracy and reliability of spatial data and resulting analyzes which ensures high confidence for corporate level decision making supporting TRCAs legislative requirements Manages daily tasks for multiple active projects with both short- and long-term timelines What will you need to succeed: Education (degree/diploma/certifications) Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Geology, Urban Planning or a related field Experience 2+ years of demonstratable experience maintaining and administering spatial and non-spatial data Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies Knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS 10.x, ArcPro and ESRI suite of GIS software Knowledge of information technology solutions including, Geographic Information Systems, Relational Database Management Systems including GeoDatabase, application development lifecycle, Microstation, AutoCAD, FME Advanced mathematical abilities (e.g., ratios, rates, percentages, basic geometry) Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS Office and SharePoint Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS 10.x and ESRI suite of GIS software Expertise in designing data visualizations and enabling others to quickly grasp complex data concepts Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct) Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience What TRCA has to offer you: As part of a progressive team you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact to preserving and protecting nature, while maintaining a balance between the natural environment and built environment.
