WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Were looking for a Director, Process Innovation and Technology Transfer Global who has a combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, process engineering, and a commitment to cultivating a positive corporate culture, particularly in areas such as sustainability and inclusion. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Research and Development, this role will oversee the commercial scale up of new innovations, process optimization and value engineering to ensure sustainable commercial production. This is a 3 day in office hybrid role based out of our Liberty Village Toronto office. WHAT YOUD BE DOING IN THIS ROLE Research and identify new technologies and manufacturing capabilities to introduce innovation, enhance product performance, and improve conversion efficiencies Design, innovate, develop, and lead the effective transfer of technology from Research & Development (R&D) to production operations, adhering strictly to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Collaborate with stakeholders and thirdparty manufacturers to define a technology transfer roadmap, including project timelines, risk mitigation plans, and costefficiency measures Monitor and design initiatives to improve operational processes, equipment, and tools, fostering an innovative and efficient production environment Work closely with a wide array of internal departmentsincluding R&D, Microbiology, Project Management Office (PMO), Cleaning and Validation, Compounding, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Operations, Engineering & Maintenance, and Regulatory/H&S/H&Sto design protocols, plan, execute, and support validation initiatives Third-Party Validation: Collaborate with the engineering and validation teams to support and validate the processes, equipment, and methodologies of third-party manufacturers, accommodating production needs for company-owned products Manage production processes to comply with all applicable standards and regulations, including cGMP, Health Canada, EU, and FDA regulations Develop and mentor talent, cultivating a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture Identify opportunities for team growth and development and provide the necessary tools, technologies, and analytics to improve efficiency and communication SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE 10+ years in a similar role for a regulated industry with 7+ years of people management and leadership experience are required Experience in process innovation management and with a knowledge in engineering and mechanical aspects of the different types of kettles, mixing technologies, pumps, and homo mixer technologies Extensive experience in cosmetic and pharmaceutical process innovation, manufacturing and technology transfers, R&D, raw materials, APIs, and manufacturing process designs and value engineering In-depth understanding and application of industry standards, FDA, ICH, Health Canada, and cGMP guidelines Ability to think critically, analytically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problemsolving skills WHAT YOULL BE GAINING BY JOINING OUR TEAM Theres a lot of good stuff that comes along with being a DECIEM team member.
