Stock Room Co-op Student Location: Ancaster, ON, Canada (onsite) Your Mission As our next Stock Room Co-op Student, youll be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities and inventory management in the stockroom, including receiving, issuing, recording, and supporting stockroom process improvement initiatives. Verify supplier shipments (quantities, descriptions) and unpack/place products in designated stocking locations. Issue and record parts to internal customers at the stockroom window/counter. Perform physical and cycle inventory counts. Maintain accurate manual and computerized records. Record stock outs and return unused/defective parts to outside vendors. Prepare repair parts for shipment to repair vendors, including contacting vendors, arranging pick-up, and reviewing repair quotes with maintenance. Assist in expediting supplier shipments (backup) under the direction of the MRO Coordinator. Participate in a stockroom improvement project (TBD), such as: Mapping current processes and recommending 12 improvements. Documenting current work instructions. Identifying potential cost savings opportunities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to Johnson Electrics policies, procedures, Safety, and Environmental practices. Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 are conformed to. Other duties as assigned. What Were Looking For Qualifications Student enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Distribution, or a related field. Experience in customer service or stockroom environment is an asset. Technical & Skill Requirements Strong organizational and time management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word. Motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities and a good work ethic. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation. Knowledge of maintenance, repair, operations (MRO) or production products is an asset. WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands) Frequent standing, walking, and light lifting of parts and materials. Some work in manufacturing and warehouse environments requiring PPE.
